Ultimate Snickerdoodles

If you’ve ever heard the name but never had one before, snickerdoodles to me are basically cinnamon sugar cookies !

I left these on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes just to make sure they wouldn’t fall apart when it came time to take them off and it caused them to have a nice crispy crust on the bottom but still be really soft on top. You definitely taste the cinnamon thanks to to the cinnamon in the cookie dough plus the cinnamon sugar blend each cookie dough ball got rolled in but the flavor was never overpowering (you certainly won’t feel like you’re doing some new version of the cinnamon challenge). On a different note, don’t be surprised if you end up with more cookies than what the recipe says. This recipe is supposed to yield 13 cookies but somehow I got 19 !

I got this recipe from delish Insane Sweets (available through Amazon, delish website has a link, etc.) but if you go onto the delish website, and just search “snickerdoodle cookies” then you’ll find the same recipe with an even more detailed set of directions.

Cookie Dough Bars

I definitely have a sweet tooth so when I saw this recipe, I had to make it !

You can choose to freeze or refrigerate these bars to solidify the chocolate layer on top and I went with the freezing option. Saves you on time, does make it a bit harder to cut into though ! Even though this is vegan, the flavor and texture reminded me of all the chocolate chip cookie dough batter that I really shouldn’t have ate over the years (seriously, I don’t know how I never got salmonella). Once the chocolate ganache hardened, it gave a nice snap and you think this dessert will be too sweet but the salt that gets mixed into the cookie dough cuts through the sweetness.

Vanilla Milkshake

It’s been so hot that a nice cold creamy milkshake sounded great. I already had ice cream at home so all I needed was to grab some whole milk and get to blending, right?

Even though I love having milkshakes, I haven’t really tried making one up myself too much so I just went with 3 cups of vanilla ice cream and 1 cup of whole milk. I tried blending until it looked combined but as I poured it out I still came across some chunks of ice cream. The milkshake was a little thinner than I would’ve preferred (even if all the ice cream had blended I think it would’ve still been on the thinner side) but the flavor of the ice cream still came through and it was a really nice cold drink to enjoy on a hot summer day !

Deep Fried Cookie Dough

I’ve been having a hankering for something sweet lately so I decided to try this recipe out.

Even though I was sure I was following their temperature for the oil and the cook time listed, mine look a little darker than the original recipe. I enjoyed the bite of the fried batter before it gave way to the soft, gooey cookie dough inside. You do have to eat these not long after their cooked up or else you’re going to end up with the outer crust get soft and sad.
