I think finding a vegan replica of the meat dishes I used to love makes it easier to stick with being vegetarian/hopefully vegan someday so when I was browsing through this cookbook and saw a recipe for hot dogs that didn’t call for freaking carrota, I wanted to give it a shot.
It doesn’t have quite the same texture as the sausages I used to eat but I was impressed overall with the look of the seitan after it was done cooking. There wasn’t much flavor which at first disappointed me but then I saw it as a good thing, ’cause you can basically put whatever kind of topping you want on it and the flavors probably won’t clash ! I went with simple mustard but my mom tried it with mustard and Wickles Wicked Pickle Chips and she really liked that combo.
If you want to try making these yourself, the recipe came from Cravings Made Vegan by Bianca Haun & Sascha Naderer.
I wasn’t paid in any form to mention Wickles or the cookbook.
Take care y’all !
